In issuing its first multi-year flag contract, the Government of Canada chose Flying Colours International for its quality, dependabiltiy and commitment to excellence. We are extremely proud to be Canada's Flag Company.

June 27 2003 FCI Featured in CBC Documentary
As Canada's Flag Company since 1910, Flying Colours International (FCI) was invited to participate in a documentary entitled "The History of the National Flag." The program will air on the CBC national network on July 1st at 8pm.

The National Flag, adopted in 1965, was the subject of much debate and halted the progress of parliament at one point. Once adopted, the flag as we know it today has generated strong feelings of pride, best encapsulated in the words of the Honourable Maurice Bourget, Speaker of the Senate (1965), "The flag is a symbol of the nation's unity, for it, beyond any doubt, represents all the citizens of Canada without discrimination of race, language, belief or opinion."

The tale of the battle to adopt the maple leaf is the subject of this documentary. The program will be available from the CBC for use in schools and with other interest groups.

Flying Colours International is the largest flag and banner manufacturer in Canada and the supplier of choice to the Federal Government. We have flown on parliaments, at corporate headquarters, sporting events, and on streets and homes across the country. Our products are sold through a network of distributors and retailers across the country and around the world.

August 07 2002 Commonwealth Games Performance Worthy
TORONTO - Canada's gold medal athletic performances in Manchester are certainly worthy of the country's admiration and celebration-but few Canadians know that another home grown talent helped make the Commonwealth Games a rousing success.

Admittedly, this star performer was never recognized on the podium but everyone recognized their work. Canada's Flying Colours International (FCI) did beat out numerous international competitors to win the coveted role as Official Flag and Banner Licensee to the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Among the many heroic feats performed by FCI for the Commonwealth Games were:

Decorating over 500 local businesses with Games graphics providing an ideal
opportunity for those businesses to demonstrate their support for the Games.

Dressing the historic Town Hall with colourful banners and highlighting the entrance with a dramatic 30 sq. ft. cast aluminum sculpture of the games logo.

Creating a co-ordinated retail program for spectators and visitors including flags, posters and other Games related merchandise.

Festooning 20 major buildings in the heart of Manchester with Games banners.

Having FCI's CEO and Project Manager travel to Manchester 16 times in 11 months to personally oversee this immense project.

Setting up a residence/office in downtown Manchester where an FCI's project manager spent 3 weeks a month living and working in Manchester.

Arranging a partnership with a local-area 650-seat inbound call centre to handle all order placement, respond to enquiries and provide fulfillment and distribution of Commonwealth Games licensed banners and flags.

Flying Colours International supplied licensed products to all ten of Manchester's surrounding Local Authorities, 32,000 schools, 800 retailers, and 25 Games sponsors. All of FCI's flags and banners were manufactured in Canada and shipped to FCI's Manchester, England call centre for distribution.

"Our work at the Commonwealth Games reinforces our position as a world leader in event graphics. We are extremely proud to have been in Manchester and to be part of this great celebration," said Azam Dawood, CEO of FCI.

The Commonwealth Games are the first multi-sport event to be hosted in England since the 1948 Olympics in London.
