Flying Colours International is a 100% Canadian, employee-owned and operated manufacturer of custom flags, banners and promotional fabric products. From our production centre in Toronto, we service wholesale, retail, government and non-governmental organization markets nationally and internationally.
Founded in 1910, Flying Colours International has a history in promotional fabric products that no other Canadian company can boast. From awnings to prospectors’ tents, boat covers to fire-retardant clothing—even hot air balloons—we’ve been behind the labels you use. We were pioneers in women’s protective sporting equipment and fabric braces and supports. Since 2000, we have focused on custom flags, banners, and related hardware.
Our history with fabrics and dyes makes us a sought-after partner for suppliers creating new products. When developing stronger and lighter fabrics with colour-fast dyes for fade resistance, suppliers seek our advice—and the scrutiny of our on-premise industrial testing lab, the only one of its kind in Canada. Our digital production technology is state-of-the-art. We’re the go-to company for the out-of-the-ordinary, whether it’s oversized flags the size of football fields, presidential inaugurations, Olympic and Paralympic venues—or your sales promotion.
The early years of this century have seen a sea-change in the environment of our industry. The employee buy-out of Flying Colours International in 2014 was a response to these new realities. As employee-owners, our success is predicated on our customers’ success, whether they are distributors, retailers or end-users. We drive our suppliers to be better every day, and accept the same expectation from our customers. Transparency, accountability, responsiveness and value—these are the bywords of our business model.
We are the most-experienced staff in the Canadian industry with average employee tenure of 23 years. We value every employee’s health, welfare, contribution and input. This is reflected in our health and safety standards, compensation, flexibility and employee support. We deliver the best—the best product, the best customer experience, the best supply chain partnership—because it’s a reflection of us.
Our employee-ownership makes us responsive to the social conscience of our staff. Our social justice initiatives are employee-directed. We are giving back to the agricultural community that sustains us by funding beekeeping projects. Bees are unheralded heroes of the food chain. Without them, agriculture is doomed, and the species are under threat from pesticides, habitat loss and other human interference. We are working with organizations to develop technology to provide potable water to the less fortunate areas worldwide.
We are proud Canadians, proud employee-owners, and proud partners in your project. We are a manufacturer direct, providing the world’s quality flag.
